What is Open Source Community Botswana?

A community taking shape around open source in Botswana. Our aim is to bring people together to share knowledge, learn from one another and build things collaboratively.

When and where is the hackathon?

Friday 18 September 2026, from 08:00, at Orange Digital Centre, Gaborone. See the event details for the full day.

Who can take part?

Developers, students, designers and curious builders are all welcome. You do not need to be an expert. You need a laptop, curiosity and a willingness to build with others.

Do I need a team or an idea?

You build in a team of 3 to 5. You do not need to arrive with one: come with your own team, or join one in the room on the day. Pick a challenge track on the morning and build together.

What should I bring?

A laptop and charger, and any tools you like to work with. Snacks and refreshments are sorted. Just bring your curiosity and a willingness to build with others.

How do I register?

Registration is free and online. Complete the registration form to save your spot.
